Would you happen to know why moving your whole arm is better than moving just your wrist? I feel much more comfortable using my wrist, unless I'm making long strokes or something. When I use my whole arm I tend to look shaky and the pressure varies a lot. Is this abnormal?

Moving your whole arm and not just your wrist will help prevent wrist pain and further complications like carpal tunnel. Little movements with your wrist is fine, but overusing your wrist can lead to tight and swollen tendons.

It just takes practice when learning to draw with your whole arm. Work on pivoting with your elbow, lifting your arm up off the surface, and keeping your wrist mostly straight with your arm. Buying a cheap wrist-brace may also help! (I use my wrist brace a lot, especially when on the computer). Don’t forget to rest and flex your hand every 20mins!
